For more than 20 years, Glynn Jackson, the owner of Glynn Jackson Productions, in conjunction with his special events company, Glynn Jackson the Agency, has produced hair and fashion shows throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, the nation, and the world.

The shows Glynn Jackson the Agency has produced run the gamut from "Ms. Metroplus" (a full-figured beauty competition) to "Mr. Debonair" (an event promoting positive male African-American role models), "Supermodel of the Year," and "The Runway Show for Women of Color."

For two consecutive years, Glynn Jackson has produced the fashion segment for highly acclaimed Bronner Brothers International Beauty and Hair Show which is attended by over 80,000 people. Under Glynn's leadership, his company has produced national stage presentations for Clairol for over five years.  Glynn's company has also staged the L’Oreal/Mizani Trend Release at the International Beauty Show in New York City, earning the “2004 Ethnic Brand State Presentation of the Year Award.”  Glynn and his company have also produced the “Shake-N-Go” Trend Release for Milky Way and the New York International Hair Show and Fashion Debut for BETV.

Glynn has been no stranger to radio and television over the years. He has appeared on Fox 5 in Washington, D.C as a Fashion and Beauty Special Correspondent. He also appeared weekly on the nationally syndicated radio show, "The Russ Parr Morning Show" as “Mr. Fashion Faux Pas.” Recently, Glynn also had the honor of serving as the Event Coordinator for the successful reality television show, "America’s Next Top Model" with Tyra Banks which airs on UPN-TV Channel 20 in Washington, D.C.

For eight consecutive years, he has hosted, served as a commentator for, and staged the fashion segment of the Lifestyle Expo in Washington, D.C. He has also served in the same capacity for Unifest, the largest outdoor fashion event in the nation’s capitol, which has attracted more than 200,000 people each year.

With all of these accomplishments under Glynn’s belt, people often wonder where it all started. Glynn begin producing shows while he was in the armed forces. Glynn was affectionately called the "Black Bob Hope" and produced the "Search for the Stars," a talent show which received three national awards. He was the first African-American to receive the USO C. Haskel Small Award for understanding service to active duty service members and their families.

After leaving the armed forces, Glynn still had a desire to “put on a good show.” This led to the creation of the critically acclaimed and highly regarded production, the Golden Scissors Awards. This hair and fashion event is nationally and internationally recognized and praised. It is often described as the “crème de la crème” of hair shows and as an event which replicates the glitz, pizzazz, and glamour of the Oscars, including a “red carpet” segment beyond compare.

As one of the only events anywhere in the world that is designed to honor and reward the artistic and creative expression via hair, beauty, and fashion, the Golden Scissors Awards has received coverage from numerous media outlets: The Washington Post Style Section, The Washington Post Business Section, Upscale Magazine, PBS Egg “The Hair Show,” Fox 5, Black Tress, Sister2Sister Magazine, Salon Sense Magazine, Shades of Beauty Magazine, Essence Magazine’s sister Magazine, Suede, and the Washington AFRO.

In additional to receiving national media coverage, the Golden Scissors Awards is also the subject of the TV One documentary, "Tangles and Locks.” This riveting documentary shows the blood, sweat, and hair grease it takes to produce the one and only, Golden Scissors Awards.

This year will mark the 19th anniversary of Golden Scissors Awards, “Hair GaGa…Taking Beauty to the Xtreme.” This is Glynn's largest production, with over 5,000 attendees and participants and is the most anticipated hair and fashion celebration of the year. Ultimately, the Golden Scissors Awards is considered to be the pinnacle of the hair show movement.
